latest company news about Winter Air Cargo Season Expands as Air Canada Launches New Routes to Almaty and Tashkent

Air Canada is expanding its winter cargo operations with new services connecting North America, Europe, and Asia, strengthening freight connectivity across key international trade corridors. The airline has introduced additional trans-Pacific services and expanded connections between Canada and major distribution hubs in the United States, supporting growing demand for cross-border cargo transportation. These developments reflect the continued evolution of global air freight networks as carriers adjust capacity and route structures to meet changing seasonal shipping requirements.

According to the report, Air Canada’s winter cargo schedule will offer 767-300 freighter services, with routes to Almaty, Kazakhstan, and Tashkent, Uzbekistan, scheduled to begin on October 29 and October 30, respectively. The Tashkent route is expected to operate twice weekly, while the new services will provide additional options for shippers moving goods between North America and Central Asia. The expansion is expected to improve regional connectivity and create more flexible routing opportunities for international freight customers.

Air Canada’s winter schedule reportedly includes 88 cargo services covering 40 destinations, with 17 destinations in the Asia-Pacific region receiving up to 46 weekly frequencies. However, the revised schedule also reflects adjustments to available capacity on certain routes, with aircraft space being reassessed and negotiations continuing over freight allocations. Some cargo space previously offered at three-digit rates may be reduced to two-digit allocations, making advance capacity planning increasingly important for freight forwarders and exporters.

For global businesses and cross-border e-commerce sellers, these developments highlight the importance of monitoring airline schedules, available cargo space, and seasonal rate changes when planning international shipments. Additional routes may offer new transportation options, but actual transit times, capacity, and pricing will depend on the specific origin, destination, cargo characteristics, and booking conditions. Working closely with logistics providers and securing space early can help businesses improve shipment reliability and manage costs during the busy winter shipping season.
