Shanghai Port Announces Temporary Suspension at Shengdong Terminal Ahead of Typhoon Conditions

Shanghai Port has announced a temporary suspension of operations at the Shengdong Terminal in Yangshan Port as precautionary measures are introduced ahead of expected severe weather. According to the operational notice, Shengdong Terminal will suspend container gate-in services from 20:00 on August 27 to 04:00 on August 28, with the exact reopening time subject to further notification.

Cargo owners, freight forwarders and trucking companies are advised to adjust container delivery and pickup schedules accordingly to avoid unnecessary waiting outside the terminal. The temporary arrangement is part of coordinated safety measures in the Yangshan port area as authorities and terminal operators prepare for strong winds and potentially disruptive marine conditions.

The suspension may temporarily affect container trucking, terminal gate operations and cargo connections at Shanghai Port during the affected period. Freight forwarders handling export shipments through Yangshan should closely monitor terminal notices, vessel schedules and container cut-off times, particularly for cargo scheduled to enter the port between August 27 and 28.
