FedEx Invests $400 Million in New Air Cargo Hubs in Delhi and New Delhi

FedEx has announced plans to invest approximately $400 million in two major air cargo hubs at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport and the upcoming Noida International Airport, strengthening its logistics infrastructure across India. The investment reflects growing demand for international air freight, e-commerce logistics and time-sensitive cargo services as India expands its role in global supply chains.

The Delhi facility will receive an investment of about $150 million and will be located at GMR Cargo City, covering approximately 230,000 square feet. Scheduled for completion within 12 to 18 months, the hub will integrate international import and export operations, including cargo handling, customs-related processes, high-value cargo management and advanced security technologies, with an estimated annual handling capacity of 600,000 tons.

FedEx has also begun construction of a second air cargo hub near Noida International Airport, representing an investment of approximately $250 million and covering around 300,000 square feet. The highly automated facility is expected to handle about 500,000 tons of cargo annually in its initial phase, with long-term capacity projected to reach approximately 2.6 million tons as operations and regional demand expand.

The combined investment is expected to enhance FedEx’s air freight network and cargo-processing capabilities in northern India while improving connectivity between Indian businesses and international markets. For exporters, importers and cross-border e-commerce companies, expanded cargo infrastructure around Delhi and Noida could support greater freight capacity, more efficient handling and stronger access to global air logistics networks.
