China Launches First China-Europe Arctic Express Route, Enhancing Northern Logistics Connectivity

China’s first China-Europe Arctic Express container shipping route officially commenced operations on August 15, marking a new development in cross-border logistics connectivity. The route is operated by Sea Legend Line Limited and will provide a new maritime transportation option between China and Europe.

The new service departs from Ningbo-Zhoushan Port and connects with Felixstowe Port in the United Kingdom through the Arctic shipping route. The maiden voyage of the vessel “Dubai Tower” is scheduled to depart on August 19 and arrive in the UK around September 5, with an estimated transit time of approximately 20 days.

Compared with traditional routes through the Suez Canal, the Arctic route significantly shortens transportation distance and improves shipping efficiency. The return voyage is planned to depart on October 3 and arrive back at Ningbo-Zhoushan Port on October 24, creating a stable two-way logistics channel.

As global trade continues to diversify, the launch of this Arctic container route represents an important step toward the commercialization of Arctic shipping. It provides more flexible transportation solutions for China-Europe trade and further strengthens international supply chain resilience.
