China Launches 68 New International Air Cargo Routes in First Four Months of the Year
China launched 68 new international air cargo routes during the first four months of the year, reflecting continued growth in global logistics demand and cross-border trade activity, according to the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) Air Logistics Branch.
In April alone, 21 new international cargo routes were introduced, while newly added round-trip cargo flights exceeded 160 per week nationwide.
Europe accounted for the largest share of the newly launched routes with 30 services, followed by Asia with 27 routes and North America with 9 routes. South America and Africa each added one new cargo route.
Industry sources said the expansion is primarily driven by rising demand from cross-border e-commerce, high-end manufacturing, high-value goods, and fresh cargo transportation.
Analysts noted that the continued expansion of China’s international air freight network is strengthening global supply-chain connectivity while improving logistics efficiency between China and major overseas markets.
With export demand from e-commerce platforms and advanced manufacturing sectors continuing to grow, the international air cargo market is expected to maintain stable momentum in the coming months.
